Thank you for visiting our conference page!
2024 will be the first time the national conference of the Australian Geography Teachers Association has been held in the Northern Territory, and we are excited to showcase some of the fantastic opportunities to learn about the tropical north of our nation. The Top End is uniquely placed, with a rich Indigenous history and culture and a vibrant multicultural community driven in no small part to our proximity to Asia. Our conference will certainly highlight these three key areas – Indigenous geographies, our connections to South East Asia and our tropical environment. This will be in addition to what we hope will be practical and useful sessions on teaching and learning Geography in the Australian context.
As always, field trips will be a key aspect of our conference. In addition to the well-known destinations, like Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks, we will work to identify a range of interesting and inspiring trips for conference attendees.
Please check back regularly for more information, and don’t forget to sign up for email updates and to be among the first to know about registration and calls for presenters.
